Welcome to the home page for the Friends of the Hill & Son Grand Organ, a painstakingly restored late 19th Century mechanical pipe organ housed in the Barossa Regional Gallery in Tanunda, South Australia.

The Friends of the Hill & Son Grand Organ are a group of like-minded music lovers who help to maintain, promote and contribute to the rediscovery of this great musical artefact. We hold concerts and events not only with the Hill & Son Grand Organ, but also across the many other beautiful pipe organs in the Barossa Valley, South Australia.

On these pages you can learn more about the Hill & Son Grand Organ and its restoration, and view a gallery of beautiful images alongside short clips of the organ in action. You can also find out about upcoming events being held by the Friends of the Hill & Son Grand Organ, as well as information about contacting us and becoming a member.

Thank you for visiting our site, we look forward to meeting you!

SHOWBIZ and STAGE with McPHEE and HOSKING – PHOTOS now up!

Last weekend saw a concert with a difference at the Hill & Son – the talented duo of Adelaide organist Chris McPhee and vocalist Rosanne Hosking entertained a mesmerised crowd with a selection of quality tunes from stage, screen, and everything in between! From the haunting tones of ‘Phantom’ to a touching ballad by Billy Joel, this show had it all. It was a fabulous afternoon of entertainment, and the feedback from the delighted crowd was ‘we want more!’.

We have posted photos from the concert on our Facebook page, so make sure you drop by and check them out!

PHOTOS from our VINTAGE FESTIVAL TOUR and CONCERT with COLIN ANDREWS

Another amazing Barossa Vintage Festival is done and dusted, and what a successful weekend we had at the Friends! Two great events – an “Historic Pipe Organs and Bells” tour of Barossa’s organ and bell heritage on Friday 21st April, and a wonderful concert entitled “Music for Grand Organ” on Sunday the 23rd with American organist Colin Andrews, who wowed the audience with his virtuosic playing. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend of wonderful music!

We have posted photos of the events on our Facebook page… why not take a look!

Thanks to everyone who made these events possible, especially to Andrew Georg, who demonstrated all of the organs on our Friday tour, and the dedicated Friends volunteers who helped the Sunday concert run so smoothly. We look forward to seeing you all at our next concert in May!
